The sound of those squabbling seagulls flying overhead, harassing the beachgoers for their newspaper wrapped fish and chips in their endless hunger, constantly dive bombing at the sight of a loose chip like a well rehearsed military attack. Distant screams of thrill seekers at the historic Dreamland and rosy red day trippers from London parading their “tans” along the promenade, beer in hand after a day of soaking the sun along the golden mile….. It can only be the Great British Seaside resort of Margate. A once alien land that has become somewhat familiar over the years… a second home you could say?
